Setting Up Your Guardian Gateway
Step-by-step activation: plug in, scan the QR code, sign in, and configure your Wi-Fi.
What you need
The Guardian G1 gateway, your existing router, and the power adapter included in the box.
1. Connect the hardware
Plug the WAN port on the gateway into a LAN port on your existing router, then connect the power adapter and press the power button. The status light turns solid within about two minutes.
2. Activate the gateway
Sign in to the parent portal and open Setup. Scan the QR code on the bottom of the gateway — this links the hardware to your household automatically.
3. Configure your Wi-Fi
Name your Guardian Wi-Fi networks and set a password (up to 63 characters). Settings are pushed to the gateway and applied within a minute.
4. Connect your devices
Join each family device to the new Guardian network. They are discovered automatically — assign each one to a profile on the Devices page.
5. Create profiles and rules
Create a profile per child with an age preset, then adjust categories, schedules, and custom allow/block rules as needed.
Tip: Keep your original Wi-Fi network active during setup so nothing loses connectivity while you move devices over one by one.
