Pausing the Internet for the Whole Home

The Pause Internet switch in the portal header cuts every profile's connection in one tap. Here's what it covers and when to use it.

The switch

At the top of the portal is the Pause Internet toggle. One tap and every child and young-adult profile in the household goes offline — dinner time, family movie night, or the moment you need everyone's attention. Another tap and everything resumes exactly as it was.

What it covers

  • All child and young-adult profiles, on every device, at once.
  • Your own devices are untouched: the pause targets family profiles, not the router, so your Wi-Fi, work calls, and streaming keep working.

What it isn't

The whole-home pause is a temporary tool, not a rule — for recurring needs like dinner hour, build a schedule instead, so it happens automatically. The pause also doesn't change any rules; when it lifts, every category block and bedtime returns exactly as configured.

When it shines

The classic uses are dinner, curfew enforcement, and "we're leaving in five minutes." Because it's one tap from anywhere in the portal — including your phone — it's the modern equivalent of standing between the family and the router.
