Setting Up Bedtime Schedules
A bedtime schedule takes a profile's devices offline at night and back on in the morning, automatically. Here's how to configure one that works.
Why schedules beat nightly battles
The single highest-value rule in family internet safety is a consistent offline window. When the internet simply ends at a set time, there's nothing to argue about each night — the schedule is the bad guy, not you.
Creating a bedtime schedule
Open Schedules in the portal and add one. Give it a name ("Bedtime"), pick the profile it applies to, then set the window — for example 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM — and the days it runs. Timezones are handled per household so sleepovers across time zones don't shift your rules.
Patterns that work
- School nights vs weekends: create two schedules — a 9 PM bedtime Sunday through Thursday, and a later 11 PM window for Friday and Saturday.
- All devices at once: the schedule applies to every device on that profile, so the tablet can't stay up after the phone shuts off.
- Parents stay online: your adult profile is unaffected, so the house's Wi-Fi and your own devices keep working.
Changes apply within a minute
Schedules take effect in about a minute. You can pause a schedule for a school-holiday night from the same page, and re-enable it after — useful for holidays and special occasions.
